Pirate Lolitas, Love it or Hate it

★Pirate Lolita's★

★Love it Or Hate it★

I can start striaght away with my adoration and love for pirate lolita, and why? Well one of my best friends IS a pirate lolita and has been extremely kind to explain in debt of the subculture and styles.

Personally this style takes (to be so blunt) balls.

Pirate lolita has become more and more of a recognized style these days with many companies including Alice & The Pirates and Fan + Freind Catering for these styles. When done correctly it can look elegant and frankly stunning with a lush amount of ruffles, asymmetric shapes, corset, bustles skirts, pirate prints and tricorn's!

Unlike most lolita styles I feel pirate lolita is a style for those "hardy worked" people, people who prefer to add a little "punk in attitude" to there style. I've found most of the pirate lolita's I have met are free spirited, aren't afraid to say their opinions and frankly are more rugged than most lolita's. This is not saying they are "garish" but is saying they are more tough and tend to live a lifestyle of plundering.

The main thing I adore about pirate style is the prints! Unlike most lolita styles I find pirate style prints or prints that can be used for pirate, have way more detail very penmanship to the print than other styles do. They are intrinsic in design and have this flowing nature to them.

I think pirate, despite how some people think pirate is quite diverse. There are many ways to do the pirate style, some prefer the old fashioned pirate style like Pirates of the Carabian and then (like myself) some prefer different style like French pirate or Chinese pirate.

Pirate lolita is truly a style i admire and there are many ways to incorporate the fashion to make it work for you, as I said before like different country style of pirates. Looking into history is an incredibly good way to learn about the "pirate lifestyle" and can easily inspire outfits, photo op's and even events to attend to. Here is a selection of multiple images NOT OWNED BY ME of different pirates lolita's floating in public places all over the internet in which are all amazing inspirations into the fashion culture. I would highly recommend pirate lolita for those who like to have fun in their fashion style, I always advise to try something at least once and IN FACT I did too~

This was a fun mini "makeover" my friend's convinced me to try, being the style pirate lolita. I may look oh so serious in some pics but seconds after each I burst out loling~

I really enjoy pirate lolita, true it is NOT my thing in this style of pirate, rococo or french style pirate yes but not rly this. However it was rly fun, it is not my style but I'm not against trying it. I think what I like most is the use of the Vampire Requiem print, I want to get this same print but in Ivory so may come back to you with a similar co-ord one day~

Coordination Show Case★

★My Favorite co-ords★

Recently when talking with a few of my friends I was asked what my own personal favorite co-ords of mine are. To Be honest most of my co-ords seem very well drab and not so fabulous... but I do have 5 that I do actually quite enjoy and love quite a lot, they are also co-ords I rewear often from the sheer love of them. Each one has a description, some short some big about what each co-ord meant to me and why I created it. All these looks are on my lookbook account and I always enjoy to hear peoples crit on my styles, everyone's tastes are different and it is lovely to hear people opinions whether is it a compliment or advice for improvement or another person take on it~

This outfit is inspired by a photo I saw recently about "the rules of lolita" vs "Japanese street style". Recently, if you dare to go out of the box in the UK your dubbed as not following the "rules" of the fashion, however in Japan, not only is mixing styles up encouraged, it is frequently advertised in MANY MANY magazines and seen as "Pretty cool" and "Individual".

(This is of course when done well and well co-ordinated lol)

Therefore I decided to do a little co-ord of my own, encouraged by this Japanese style of "life's too short, have fun with fashion" The only thing I'm not to fond of is the socks and converse combination. I wish to replace this with some really funky boots and maybe some decorated flower tights x

My sweet "Teddybears teaparty" co-ord I wore for today's meet, Forgive the messy bedroom.

After the meet the previous weekend at Leed's I got this pink bodyline blouse and loris shooting star replica bag and thought of how I could put them with a set, but after placing all my pink together I made this, what I would say "omg kill it with fire, there is so much pink" type of outfit, complete with some derpy pigtails~

Bit worn out but got some photo's of my outfit for a friend's birthday party. The theme was "cruise ship" so me and a few other's dressed up for the idea. This dress however has a little storey.

This dress I'm wearing is not mine, in fact it is one of my best friends dresses that I got her for her birthday, IRONICALLY as I wore this she borrowed and wore the sailor dress she bough
t me for My birthday! So we both wore each other's birthday dresses! It was quite fun and we loved the idea, it became a fun running joke of the night~

I really like this dress from bodyline, it is growing on me a lot, I wish I one day gain it for myself and me and my friend to twin properly in it~ ♥

To me this co-ord is about simplicity and natural aspects of a hime, it is also a fail safe outfit for myself as it is easy to wear and comfortable~

I wore this outfit for a fun day out with my bf, we went out just to pick up a few things but on our travels did a bit of venturing. The sun was so lovely and bright, it just gave me an excuse to dress up/ dress down.

I felt this look was really casual, but also very comfy. Not to Hot, not to Cold. If anything this outfit was chosen to go with my new ring, has been the first time I've got myself anything in awhile and if anything this ring, to me, represents my mother who has been unfortunately ill currently.

An odd story but, when I was younger I was bitten by a white rabbit, and I ended up gaining a strange fear of them. It was not just a bite, it permanently scared my little finger, I still have the scar to this day, but my mother told me something very important whilst growing up.

"The rabbit only bit you because she was afraid of you, like people it did not understand you even though you meant no harm. People and animals alike lash out at things they do not understand. Take your time, be patient and I promise you, your kindness will shine through no matter what you look like or who people think you are.

Your own sunshine will beam through and can make even the most seemingly terrifying beast turn into a harmless rabbit"

Believe it or not, I still have a slight fear of white rabbits but every time I get that tiny "urk" or fear, I remember what my mother said and overcome it ♥
